Wizards wins another Emmy, this time for the movie.

The WOWP movie was up against the WOWP series, iCarly, Hannah Montana and JONAS. Some may remember that I was quite puzzled by this nomination. I mean, yes, two nominations are a good thing – but in the same category? I thought it would for sure split the Wizards vote and hand the Emmy to iCarly.

Fortunately, I was wrong. Whew.

The new GLC sounds a little boring to me, but we’ll have to see how it all plays out.

We finally get to meet Uncle Ernesto in a very special new Wizards episode!

Then two days later we get the second new Sonny of the month. the highly anticipated “That’s So Sonny” also has a spoiler thread on the SWAC Forum thanks to Moderator Kaliet who obtained that episode’s script!

We’re still missing a big chunk of season three, but seasons one and two are nearly complete.

OMG, YES!!

It is official! Disney has announced the renewal of WOWP for a fourth season, AND they’re making a SECOND DCOM!

Of course, this second movie will almost certainly be the end of the series, but I don’t think season five was gonna happen one way or another.

Disney Channel has ordered a fourth season of its Emmy Award-winning sitcom “Wizards of Waverly Place,” and is in development on the sequel to “Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie,” cable TV’s second-highest rated scripted telecast of all time in Total Viewers (13.5 million), Kids 6-11 and Tweens. The announcement was made today by Gary Marsh, president, Entertainment, and chief creative officer, Disney Channels Worldwide. Production on the fourth season is scheduled to begin in August with show runners Vince Cheung and Ben Montanio (“Married"¦with Children,” “Greetings from Tucson”) executive-producing. Todd J. Greenwald (“Hannah Montana,” “Saved By the Bell: The New Class”) is the series creator and also an executive producer.

The script for the Disney Channel Original Movie sequel will be written by Dan Berendsen (Disney’s “Hannah Montana: The Movie,” “Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie” and the upcoming “Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam”).

In making the announcement, Marsh said, “The Emmy win this past year confirmed what we already believed — this is a cast of superstar comedic talent, backed by an inspired team of writers and producers.”

The series stars Selena Gomez (whose debut album, “Kiss & Tell,” from Hollywood Records, debuted in the Billboard Top 10 and has since become gold-certified), David Henrie, Jake T. Austin, Jennifer Stone, Maria Canals-Barrera and David DeLuise. In Season Four, Disney Channel UK star Gregg Sulkin (“As the Bell Rings” and Disney Channel’s upcoming movie, “Avalon High”) reprises his recurring guest role.

“Wizards of Waverly Place” debuted in 2007 and won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Children’s Program in 2009. A proven fan favorite, the sitcom has been lauded for its portrayal of Latinos and has won Alma, Imagen and NAACP Image Award nominations.

Set in New York’s Greenwich Village neighborhood, the series follows the Russo family — siblings Alex, Max and older brother Justin, each a wizard in training, and competing with each other to determine who among them will get to keep their powers forever. They live with their Italian-American father, Jerry (who was once a wizard), and their Mexican-American mother, Theresa, a mortal (who prefers that magic not be used in the house). Alex’s best friend, Harper Finkle, is the only friend who knows the Russo kids have magical powers.

New episodes of “Wizards of Waverly Place” air FRIDAYS (8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel. A production of It’s a Laugh Productions for Disney Channel, the series carries a TV-G parental guideline.

We already know about the Good Luck Charlie premiere on April 4th, and the new SWAC on April 11th.

We we now know that Disney has another night of premieres planned for April 16th, with the kick off event being a special Wizards of Waverly Place episode guest staring Shakira!

Two-time Grammy and seven-time Latin Grammy Award-winning artist Shakira and comedian Jeff Garlin guest star in a new episode of the hit comedy series, “Wizards of Waverly Place,” during Disney Channel’s popular programming event, “Night of Premieres,” FRIDAY, APRIL 16 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET/PT). The evening also includes new episodes of the hit series “The Suite Life On Deck,” “Wizards of Waverly Place,” “Phineas and Ferb” and the Disney XD comedy “I’m In The Band.”

"¢ “Rock the Kasbah” - While docked in Morocco, the shipmates go shopping at the famed Kasha, where Zack insists Cody try his hand at haggling with a shop owner. Meanwhile, London, Bailey, Marcus and Woody discover what they believe to be a magic lamp and meet a genie who offers to grant wishes, causing the friends to argue over which wish should be granted.

"¢ “Dude Looks Like Shakira” – Alex, Justin and Max are shocked to discover that their Uncle Kelbo (Jeff Garlin) has transformed into international music sensation Shakira after he failed to follow the Main Eleven Wizards Rules.

“Phineas and Ferb” (9:00-9:30 p.m., ET/PT)
"¢ “Invasion of the Ferb Snatchers” - After an all night sci-fi movie marathon, Candace is convinced that Ferb is an alien and she gathers evidence to prove it. The boys admit to doing something alien-esque, and Candace becomes increasingly frustrated when her plan to bust her brothers is compromised by the alien disguised as someone else in the family. Meanwhile, Dr. Doofenshmirtz is trying to sell an evil “-inator,” ostensibly as a cleaning device.

"¢ “Ain’t No Kiddie Ride” - Phineas and Ferb decide to trick out the kiddie rides in front of the Tri-State Mart. Determined to bust them, Candace sits in a rocket ride so it can’t go anywhere until Mom shows up, but the rocket launches and Candace flies across Danville. Meanwhile, Dr. Doofenshmirtz plans to leave behind a legacy by burning his name into the atmosphere using his ozone “deplete-inator.”

“I’m In The Band” (9:30 -10:00 p.m., ET/PT)
"¢ “Annoying Arlene” - Tripp takes his annoying classmate, Arlene Roca, on a date after he discovers her dad is a famous record producer. He gives her an Iron Weasel demo CD for her dad, but realizes it has the song “Annoying Arlene” on it. Now Tripp, Derek, Burger and Ash must find a way to retrieve it.

The premise for the I’m In The Band episode sounds rather interesting, actually. I’ll have to check that out.

Well, it looks like Wizards season three is finished or at least winding down.

@AlexKade13 was on the set yesterday for an exclusive filming set up for her by Creator Todd Greenwald himself. She says of the episode they shot: “Todd specifically told us not to say anything about the ep since it’s the season finale, in particular.”

Then today, Selena tweeted this picture of their “last table read of season 3…. ”

But, if they filmed the episode yesterday, why the table read today? That seems backward. Maybe she meant to say it was yesterday? Either that or there’s one more episode after the one Alex saw yesterday.

Anyway, we’re pretty sure that the show has been renewed for a fourth season. Todd just tweeted this picture:

With the caption: “Relax everybody. Now you can go back to not doing your homework. ”

Selena added: “P.s. Wizards is not over. We’ll be back ”

Which I guess is as close to a confirmation of a renewal as we’re likely to get.

For this reason, we will be suspending the Save Wizards campaign until further notice. And if something changes, we’ll be ready and waiting.

Save Wizards Day & The Work Ahead

Our first Save Wizards day was this past friday the 26th. The email stats show a 10% increase over our unofficial Wizards email day earlier in the month, which is an encouraging sign, but no where near what we need!

To those of you who are doing your part, thank you, please keep it up. But we need the rest of you to step up! Wizards of Waverly Place will stop filming this month. And the show still hasn’t been renewed!

I know a lot of fans of the show are skeptical that the show needs our help, but IT DOES. Look at our track record, SDS has always been out front trying to raise awareness of these problems so that the fans have an opportunity to fight back. Even if you’re not a fan yourself, we need your help to get the word out. Once the show stops airing new episodes people will catch on, but history has shown us that by then, it might be too late.

Our next Save Wizards day is March 19th. This is our last best chance to save the show. We need it as big as possible.

Aly & AJ Split with Hollywood Records

Phil of the Future fans are probably interested in the fact that Aly has broken her last official ties with Disney and have left Hollywood Records!

Hey guys"¦so we know it’s been quiet in the 78violet camp but we want to first off thank you for sticking with us. We have some big news and wanted to make sure you hear it first.

Now that it’s official, we can tell you we’re no longer a part of Hollywood Records. What does that mean exactly??? Now we have the freedom to take 78violet in the direction we want. We’re writing and recording new music and are really excited on what’s next.

So"¦what is next? As for the album we recorded for Hollywood, honestly, we don’t foresee it ever being released. But"¦we are continuing to write and record new songs that we hope you’ll love as much as we do.

We’re going to be taking the Aly & AJ website down in the meantime which means the current message board will be removed and the accounts you created on the site will be put on hold. Yes"¦major bummer. But we’ll have a new message board and a new temporary site up in a few days that will serve as our main communication with you for the time being.

I obviously don’t know all the details, but something here just doesn’t add up. Why not release the third album with Hollywood, make a good deal of money from it, and then shop for a new record deal while riding the wave of that album? This sounds a lot like when Aly and her mom walked away from Phil of the Future for a new show with AJ that eventually never happened.

Good Luck Charlie Update

Most will probably remember that Webmaster Greg went to a filming for Good Luck Charlie last December. At that filming, he got to see the first episode and the one they shot that day, #111 "Kit and Kaboodle."� Well, he decided once wasn’t enough and went again on February 12th. That Friday’s episode was #118, "Butt-Dialing Duncans."� We don’t want to give too much away, but we will say that Teddy and PJ get new phones which get themselves in a little bit of trouble.

Remember the Feb highlights post? It looks like Disney’s gonna start giving us monthly highlights.

March is gonna be a big month for DC Fans, starting with a special Suite Life on Deck.

“Once Upon a Suite Life” - During Ms. Tutweiler’s history lesson, Zack, Cody and London fall asleep and dream of themselves in classic fairy tales. London dreams that she is the evil witch trying to poison Snow White (Bailey), so she can be the fairest in the land; Cody imagines he and Zack are Hansel and Gretel as they get lost in the forest and find a candy cottage and Ms. Tutweiler, a witch; and Zack dreams of Jack and the Beanstalk, in which he trades the family cow for magic beans, in a new episode of “The Suite Life on Deck,” premiering FRIDAY, MARCH 5 (8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Then March 14th is a huge day, with the previously announced Hannah Montana S3 finale, and the Premiere of Sonny with a Chance Season two

Meanwhile Kevin and Joe devise a plan to help Nick ace his geometry test after their dad threatens not to send the brothers on tour unless they pass all their school exams, in “JONAS,” premiering SUNDAY, MARCH 14 (8:30-9:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

After that epic weekend, we get a new Wizards of Waverly Place.

“Detention Election” - Justin’s chances at becoming Student Body President are put in jeopardy after someone wallpapers Principal Laritate’s office with posters from Justin’s campaign and he is accused of masterminding the prank. Meanwhile, Alex befriends Stevie, a rebellious new girl in school, and Jerry, Max and Harper get stuck on a Ferris wheel during their trip to Coney Island in “Wizards of Waverly Place,” premiering FRIDAY, MARCH 19 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

And a new On Deck. This series must be nearing the end of the season, although I haven’t checked exactly how many more remain.

“Marriage 101″ - Ms. Tutweiler assigns her students a project where they must act like married couples and manage a household. Cody and Bailey are the quintessential perfect couple, and Zack and London make a surprisingly good couple too. When Woody and Addison have a child - Marcus - they learn how difficult adult life can be, in a new episode of “The Suite Life on Deck,” premiering FRIDAY, MARCH 19 (8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

And then we’ll wrap up the month with two more new Sonny with a Chance episodes.

“Sonny Get Your Goat” - When Sonny and Tawni learn the “Check It Out Girls” sketch is popular in Glendovia, Marshall arranges for an exchange program, not realizing that the Glendovians think the girls are real check-out girls and want them to be cashiers for a store’s grand opening. Meanwhile, Nico and Grady wear mustaches to fit in with their Glendovian exchange student, in a new episode of “Sonny With A Chance,” SUNDAY, MARCH 21 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

And

“Gassie Passes” - When the cast of “So Random!” finds out they are starring in a new movie based on their “Gassie” sketches, Demi showers the pup with affection by giving him too many dog treats. When Gassie passes out, the cast fears the worst, only to discover that Sonny’s treats caused Gassie to fall ill. Meanwhile, Nico and Grady receive money from a secret investor, who turns out to be Dakota Condor, to mass produce the Gassie lunch boxes that Zora invented, in a new episode of “Sonny With A Chance,” SUNDAY, MARCH 28 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Of course, Jennifer Stone’s new movie “Harriet the Spy: The Blog Wars” also premieres this month on the 26th. But no one cares about that.
